When you book a Salti Hearts Surf, Yoga & Fitness Camp; your booking is confirmed via email.
Payment terms:
Bookings more than 90 days in advance require a deposit of $600. Bookings less than 90 days will require full payment to secure your spot. The customer accepts responsibility for any bank or transfer charges incurred.
Flight arrangements:
With so many great offers from online agents and the ever changing fares, flights should be arranged through an ABTA or ATOL bonded travel agent. Your contract for the flight arrangements is not with the company and as such the company cannot be held responsible for any delays or other problems which may arise with your flights.
Changing your booking:
We will make every effort to arrange any changes you request after the booking has been confirmed, however any changes to dates or courses are subject to availability of accommodation and course places. Please be aware change within 20 days of departure carries an administration charge of $50.
Cancellations:
All cancellations must be sent in writing and will be effective on the date which they are received by the company. Cancellation charges are payable as follows:

– Deposits are non-refundable
– Under 30 days 100% of total cost for Bali Retreats | – Under 56 days 100% of total cost for Mentawai Retreats
However if your cancellation is within the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to make a claim.
Insurance:
As with any holiday, full travel insurance is a requirement for all guests booking a holiday with Salti Hearts. Please make sure that your insurance policy covers you for surfing. Failure to take out travel insurance breaks the contract between Salti hearts and the client. In the event of an accident or incident the client will claim against their individual travel insurance and not the company.
Transport:
All our transport is air conditioned, comfortable and drive by our local transport leaders, who know how to cruise through the traffic and the green roads along the island, taking you to the best surf of the day. On board, you will find the road tripping essentials, like: wax / Organic zinc / first AID kit / Magazines and good music to enjoy the ride.
Suppliers’ Conditions:
Suppliers will often have their own booking conditions or conditions of carriage, and you will be bound by those as far as the relevant supplier is concerned. Some of these conditions may limit or exclude liability on the part of the relevant supplier, or give the supplier the right to alter or cancel arrangements without penalty. Where relevant, copies of such conditions will be available on request, or at the offices of the relevant supplier.
Not Included in the Cost:
Cost of passports, visas where required, gratuities (except where indicated), insurance, flights, excess baggage, laundry, drinks, airport taxes, meals (except where indicated), insurance, car or motorbike hire and items of a personal nature.
Surf conditions:
Our retreats are selected for the quality they offer but as a company we are not responsible for poor surf or bad weather. We select our resort so they perform above average and that they offer good natural environment but if no surf occurs then we cannot offer compensation or alternatives. We provide details of conditions on our website introductory pages but it is your responsibility to ensure that all conditions are researched by you and that you are happy with the resort selection.
Environmental Dangers:
As a surf holiday our Retreats involve a natural environment that we do not control these include but are not limited to snakes, sharks, tsunami and volcanic eruptions to name a few. The company cannot be held responsible for these activities or the dangers that you as a customer will experience. We try our best to ensure safety comes first always but natural things will occur and caution must be taken at times. It is understood that you agree to these dangers when booking.
Our Liability:
(i) Our obligations are limited to providing the courses and these and the suppliers providing any service or facility included in your holiday, are to take reasonable skill and care to arrange for the provision of such services and facilities and, where we or your supplier is actually providing the service or facility, to provide them and to do so with reasonable skill and care. You must show that reasonable skill and care has not been used if you wish to make any claim. Standards of, for example, safety, hygiene and quality vary throughout the transport and destinations that your holiday may involve. Sometimes these standards will be lower than those which would be expected to be found in the UK, Australia or Europe. The services and facilities included in your holiday will be deemed to be provided with reasonable skill and care if they comply with any local regulations which apply (such as, for example, those of the Civil Aviation Authority), or, if there are no applicable local regulations, if they are reasonable when compared to the local standards and customs
Responsibility:
The Company act only as agents for the hotels, contractor’s providing accommodation, transportation or other services, and all coupons, exchange orders, receipts, are subject to any and all tariffs, terms and conditions under which any accommodation, transportation or any other services whatsoever are provided by such hotels or contractors.
The Company shall not be liable or responsible for death or injury to any person so far as permitted by law or loss of or damage to any property or otherwise including baggage, whether due to its or its servants, agents or employees negligence or otherwise arising out of or in conjunction with any accommodation, transportation or other services, or resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, dangers, incidents of the sea, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of governments or other authorities, de jure or de facto wars, whether declared or not, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferage, epidemics, quarantines, medical or customs regulations, delays or cancellations of or changes in schedules or itinerary, or overbooking or defaults, or from any causes beyond the Company’s control or through the acts or defaults of the hotels, airlines, bus or car companies, railroads, steamship lines or owners or contractors providing accommodation, transportation or other services or any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passport, visa or other documents and that neither the Company nor its servants, agents or employees shall be or become liable or responsible for any additional expense or liability sustained or incurred by the tour and/or modify the itineraries in any way it thinks desirable and further reserves the right to decline to accept any person on any tour and may substitute hotels where necessary.
The issuance and acceptance of receipts or tickets, or accommodation shall be deemed consent of the above conditions. You will find the transportation companies or firms shall be exempt from all liability in respect of any detention, delay, loss, damage, sickness or injury, however or by whomsoever caused and whatever kind occurring, of or to the passenger at any time when the passenger is not on board a carrier or conveyance used and operated by the transport companies or firms. The passage contract in use by the transportation companies or firms shall constitute the sole contract between the transportation companies or firms and the purchaser of these tours and/or passengers. You must check that your travel insurance covers you.
Guests must be at least 18 years of age to attend our retreats. Guests under this age may be allowed to attend the retreat provided they are accompanied by a guardian aged 18 years or older and this has been granted by management.
Privacy:
Any information you provide to the company is held under the strictest security.
If you choose to book a holiday or request a quotation or resort information, we may keep your details on file to send you new updates or to give you details of special offers. We do not sell our customer details to anyone.
When you visit our site we do not use cookies to monitor your use. If you wish us to remove any details we may have stored simply send an email to info@saltihearts.com with your full name, address, postcode and email address requesting that your details be removed. Please note that we are required by law to retain information on financial transactions we have had with our customers. Health & safety:
For medical advice regarding your journey, please contact your GP or the Department of Health in your home country. Surfing is a strenuous sport and you need to be a competent swimmer. If you are in any doubt about your physical or mental fitness or swimming ability you should consult your doctor before booking your holiday and only proceed if you are advised that it is safe to do so. Any medical condition or disability must be notified to the company before booking and advice sought before the booking is made. It is your responsibility to keep healthy and safe on holiday and in particular make yourself aware of the need for sun protection and the dangers of over exposure to the sun. This issue of Terms and Conditions is dated: 01/01/2015 and supersedes all other versions.
